Engineering support ranges from providing recommendations for operations and maintenance practices retrofit and repair design specifications troubleshooting and analysis of equipment failures development of standardization procedures and much more. The successful candidate will work with a civil/structural engineer and other team members to support the generation plants structural engineering needs.Job DescriptionKey AccountabilitiesInterface with engineering staff operations & maintenance groups and other Vistra personnel to ensure consistent practical and effective engineering solutions.Will be assigned various engineering projects.Comply with safety policy and procedures to ensure a safe working environmentPossess the ability to work independently and in a fast paced environmentAll other duties as assignedEducation Experience & Skill RequirementsMust be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. Students sponsored through Optical Practical Training (OPT) or Curricular Practical Training (CPT) are NOT eligible for this internship.Must be currently enrolled in a 4-year institution of higher education and pursuing a bachelor of science or masters degree in civil engineering or a related engineering degree with at least one year of study completed.Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel Word PowerPoint) Access desiredProficient in AutoCAD or similar systemsExcellent verbal & written communication skills; presentation skills desiredOfficial transcripts must be received from your school prior to start dateMust be in good academic standing with your schoolThe successful candidate will work with the Generation Services (corporate) engineering team to support the plants with structural engineering programmatic and emergent needs.
