Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:Looking for the perfect summer job? Join our aquatics team! The J is hiring Lifeguards for the summer 2026 season. We offer flexible scheduling to work around your summer plans and provide opportunities for growth and training. This is more than just a job—it's a chance to build real-world skills in leadership and emergency response. ScheduleVarious part-time schedules working days, evenings, or weekends between the hours of 5 a.m. - 9:30p.m. This position is active May 1 through October 31.Benefits$15/hr to start, returning guards rates increase yearlyFree Individual membership to The JResponsibilitiesFollows and enforces all rules throughout the Aquatics FacilitiesMaintains constant surveillance of Members in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of Members in the event of emergencyCompletes the appropriate daily paperwork during the shiftPerforms various maintenance and cleaning dutiesSwim 1000 yards each weekAttend the one mandatory in-service training scheduled for each month during the fall/winter and two mandatory in-service trainings scheduled for each month during the summerPerforms additional job-related duties as assignedRequirements:Lifeguard TrainingFirst AidCPR & AED Pro Must be at least 15 years of agePass Lifeguard pre-employment practical skills test in the water and demonstrate ability at periodic in-service training sessionsPhysical RequirementsMust be able to lift up to 50lbsAble to complete the LG pre-course skills: 300 swim, 20 yrd brick test, 2 minutes of treadingMust be able to sit/stand for extended periods of timeGood vision to surveil assigned zones and identify patrons in need of assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
