Run what runs the world.This Position reports to:Global Quality & Continuous Imp ManagerThe work model for the role is: Hybrid Richmond VAYour role and responsibilities In this role you will have the opportunity to lead the execution of supplier assessments drive both corrective and preventive actions based on supplier maturity and performance levels. Each day you will manage operational supplier quality both on-site and off-site ensuring the thorough execution of supplier qualification and development processes. You will also showcase your expertise by managing the suppliers Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).You will be mainly accountable for:Driving approval process for supplier parts materials and project subcontractor services as applicable involving collaboration with other functions/experts encompassing activities like Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and product surveillance at supplier manufacturing sites.Leading in promptly addressing supply issues related to quality deliveries non-compliant products or project services.Working together with buyers to engage suppliers and prepare claims cases when necessary.Ensuring required supplier development processes are thoroughly executed to drive continuous improvement of the supplier base.Lead and takes active participation in resolution of customer cases following robust root cause analysis and corrective actions implementation (supplier customers)Qualifications for the roleBachelor degree in engineering (electrical engineering preferred); Masters degree a plusMinimum 5 years experience in supplier quality or manufacturing quality of transformers and magnetics (preferred)Knowledge in quality management analysis/ improving toolsExperience in Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)Ability to travel domestic and international up to 20%Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.More about usABB Smart Power provides energy distribution solutions for data centers industrial and manufacturing plants critical infrastructure and commercial buildings.
