Job DescriptionAs a Supply Chain Forecasting Analyst on the Supply Chain Analytics Team, you will play a key role within Best Buy Data & Analytics COE to drive transformational change in Best Buy’s supply chain. The contribution of this role directly impacts our customer and delivers differentiated value to Best Buy through innovative data capabilities and insights to highlight the opportunities present to optimize holistic Supply Chain processes and strategies. The team seeks a candidate with a background in applying analytic techniques to solve problems in supply chain across domains of Network Strategy, Inventory Management, and Assortment Optimization.  A strong candidate will possess a background in a diverse slate of data science and optimization research techniques in addition to having a strong understanding of its application in retail supply chain.This role is ideal for either a Data Scientist looking to specialize in forecasting and inventory analytics or an experienced Inventory Analyst with strong analytical skills who is eager to deepen their technical expertise and transition into a more data‑driven role using modern data science tools.Best Buy’s Advanced Analytics is on the forefront of Best Buy’s purpose to enrich lives through technology. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process. This position is not eligible for Immigration SponsorshipWhat You'll DoBuild an understanding of Best Buy’s supply chain operations and relevant processes and systems.Source, interpret, and transform operational and transactional data into valuable analytical insights.Use your knowledge of optimization, statistics, and predictive modeling to identify and test new analytic solutions that create improvements for business operations.Craft and deliver compelling presentations to stakeholders, effectively communicating findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.Collaborate with data engineers to design and implement scalable data pipelines and infrastructure for advanced analytics.Serve as a trusted advisor to Best Buy’s Logistics, Inventory and Distribution Operations teams. Partnering for shared understanding and driving common outcomes. Actively work to identify improvements to internal processes, to improve analytical outcomes and drive enterprise KPIs.Basic QualificationsBachelor’s Degree from accredited college/university preferably in mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, or related STEM field2+ years of relevant experience in data science such as statistics, operations research, design and analysis of experiments, machine learning, and/or quantitative analysis OR 2+ years of experience in Supply Chain analytical roles using advanced tools and techniques2+ years of experience using Python and SQLIntermediate proficiency in Microsoft ExcelHands-on experience working with large datasets from varied sourcesPreferred QualificationsMasters in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or related STEM field.2+ years of experience in the areas of Operations Research and/or Supply Chain Projects (demand planning, forecasting, inventory, transportation, network optimization, segmentation, and S&OP) in sophisticated and complex environments2+ years of experience of practical utilization and application of computer programming languages such as Python, RKnowledge of Machine Learning / Deep Learning, including Python libraries like TensorFlow and PyTorch Experience with Supply Chain Network Design software, including AIMMS SC Navigator, Tactical Planning, Inventory PlanningExperience working with globally distributed teamWhat is in it for youWe are committed to helping our people thrive at work and at home.
