POSITION SUMMARY:As the Histotechnologist Supervisor you will oversee the activities of the lab and Signatera team that is cutting staining and preparing tissue samples for the pathologist view. The individual is responsible for supervising and participating in operations of the histology lab.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:In this position you will work in a fast paced customer focused and challenging environmentSupervise the day-to-day operations of the Histology departmentEnsure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results are reported in a timely mannerDirectly supervise train and mentor laboratory personnel of the departmentMonitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate assay coverageResponsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffedResearch and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessaryEngage in continuous process and service level improvementsEnsure all equipment is being properly maintained through Quality ControlPrepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documentsEvaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendationsMeet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their developmentPerform bench work as needed and maintain proficiency/competency in technical operationsEnsure all work is in accordance with state and Federal regulationsResponsible for administering and managing policies and proceduresProcess and maintain payroll and personnel filesPerform administrative duties as neededQualificationsBachelors Degree requiredActive ASCP Board of Certification HT(ASCP) HLT(ASCP)4 years Histology laboratory experience required and minimum 2 years supervisory experienceKNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Excellent written and oral communication skills.Able to accurately understand and convey information to team membersAbility to think broadly about the importance of information.Ability to work independentlyStrong working knowledge of CLIA CAP and relevant state regulationsUnderstanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and proceduresProficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft OfficeHigh level of attention to detail with strong organizational skillsComfortability making decisions in a changing environmentAbility to handle the physical requirements of the position Travel required for this position:No or Yes : If yes state anticipated percent for travel: N/AThe pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate including but not limited to skill set years & depth of experience certifications and specific office location.
