Pay Rate: $21.00/hr.

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and patient-focused Surgery Scheduler to coordinate all aspects of the surgical process. This role is essential in ensuring a seamless experience for patients, providers, and surgical facilities. The Surgery Scheduler will serve as the primary point of contact for patients, guiding them from initial consultation through surgery while managing scheduling, insurance, and pre-operative requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures in a timely manner, aligning with provider and facility availability

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, providing guidance and consistent communication throughout the surgical process

  • Verify insurance benefits, obtain prior authorizations, and ensure timely submission of required documentation

  • Educate patients on financial responsibility, including out-of-network benefits and available payment options

  • Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, surgical assistants, and facilities to ensure all case details are confirmed

  • Ensure all pre-operative requirements are completed, including medical clearances, labs, imaging, and testing within required timeframes

  • Prepare and manage surgical documentation, including consent and patient records, ensuring accuracy and compliance

  • Maintain accurate tracking of all surgical cases and provide regular updates to leadership

  • Proactively identify and resolve scheduling, authorization, or documentation issues to prevent delays or cancellations

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in surgery scheduling, medical office, or healthcare coordination required

  • Strong knowledge of insurance verification, prior authorizations, and benefits interpretation (out-of-network experience preferred)

  • Experience coordinating with physicians, surgical facilities, and multidisciplinary teams

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong patient-service mindset

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

  • Proficient in EMR systems, Microsoft Office, and general computer applications

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT/ICD-10 coding, and surgical workflows preferred

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

  • Professional, dependable, and able to maintain confidentiality
