What You’ll Do

As a Surgical Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting surgeons and ensuring safe, efficient surgical procedures. Your responsibilities include:

Assisting surgeons during oral and maxillofacial surgical proceduresPerforming preoperative and postoperative patient care dutiesVerifying patient identity and surgical sitesMaintaining strict aseptic technique throughout proceduresSupporting an unobstructed operative field using suction, retractors, and irrigationPreparing, inspecting, and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipmentMonitoring patient status during proceduresTaking and processing dental radiographs and imagingCompleting accurate clinical documentation and patient narrativesCoordinating necessary equipment and supplies for proceduresSupporting additional clinical needs as assignedWhat You’ll Bring

High school diploma or equivalent requiredRegistered Dental Assistant (RDA) with the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Dentistry (required)Dental Radiology Certification (Massachusetts required)Current BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 1 month of hire)1+ year of dental or surgical assisting experience preferredDAANCE certification preferredStrong attention to detail and commitment to patient safetyExcellent manual dexterity and clinical precisionAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environmentStrong teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skillsBasic computer proficiency and familiarity with clinical documentationCalm, professional demeanor with patients and surgical teamWhat We Offer
