Surgical Services Sterile Processing Tech (SPT) at vTech Solution

Job Summary: The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for decontaminating cleaning sterilizing and distributing medical and surgical equipment and supplies. This role requires a strong understanding of sterilization techniques and infection control practices. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and ensuring that all equipment is properly functioning. Location:Mission Viejo California United States Responsibilities: - Decontaminates cleans sterilizes and distributes medical and surgical equipment and supplies. - Operates and maintains sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and sterilizers. - Inspects equipment for cleanliness and proper functioning. - Assembles instrument trays and sets. - Maintains accurate records of sterilization processes. - Follows infection control policies and procedures. - Stocks and distributes supplies. - Answers unit phone and directs calls accordingly. - Performs data entry into electronic medical database systems. - Documents patient care and related duties appropriately. - Coordinates equipment/supply needs. - Notifies appropriate department of equipment malfunction. - Performs any other related duties (e.g. clerical technical duties) as assigned. Required Skills & Certifications: - Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician. - CBSPD or IAHCSMM/HSPA certification. Preferred Skills & Certifications: - N/A Special Considerations: - On-call responsibilities required 1 weekend per month. - May be required to float to other facilities. - Every other weekend work is required and may exceed due to need. - RTO must be included at the time of submission. - Facility is able to call off once per two week pay period. Scheduling: - Schedule is to be determined. - Open to accommodating block schedules per manager discretion.
