DescriptionCertified Surgical Technician (CST)Status/FTE: TPD / 0.2 FTEShift length: 8 hoursStart Time: 0700Unit:Advanced Pain & SpineSchedule Requirements (including weekends holidays):Monday-Friday as neededRequired qualifications:Associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology through an accredited Surgical tech programBLS for Healthcare Provider upon hireCertification through The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) within three (3) months of hirePreferred qualifications:One (1) year of Surgical Technologist acute care experienceMedical terminology experience preferredAdditional Information/Department information:The Surgical Technologist is an allied health professional competent of surgical procedures and an integral part of the surgical care team. The Surgical Technologist works under the supervision and delegation of a surgeon to facilitate safe and effective surgical procedures. The Surgical Technologist is an expert in theory and application of aseptic and sterile technique knowledgeable of human anatomy surgical procedures and surgeon preferences to properly prepare the sterile field supplies instrumentation and assisting through a combination of knowledge participation anticipation and critical thinking.
