Job Description

AECOM is currently hiring a Survey Technician to join a field crew based out of our Hunt Valley MD office. This position will support transportation-related projects including roadway highway and similar infrastructure assignments. The role offers the opportunity to work as part of a collaborative team on a variety of projects while gaining hands-on field experience in support of large-scale transportation initiatives.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Work directly with and under Party Chief on a survey crewOperate and maintain robotic total stations GPS equipment and Leica scannersMaintain survey crew equipment and inventory ensuring all tools are in proper working conditionConduct ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys with accuracy and attention to detailPerform topographic metes and bounds surveys and establish control networksInteract professionally with Party Chief Chief of Surveys and survey team membersAdhere to and maintain standards and specifications of project requirementsAssist in data collection and field note documentationPerform basic calculations and data processing tasksParticipate in safety briefings and adhere to all safety protocolsAssist in the preparation of survey reports and drawingsCollaborate with other departments to ensure project alignmentStay updated on industry trends and technological advancements in surveying equipment and techniquesMay be required to perform out of town work at timesContribute to the development of junior team members through knowledge sharing and mentoringQualifications : Minimum Requirements:BA/BS degree plus 2 years of related experience or AS Degree plus 4 years of related experience or HS/GED plus 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency and/or educationDue to the projects associated with this position US Citizenship is requiredValid US Drivers License required to regularly drive AECOM vehicles to project sites. As a condition of employment selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records reviewPreferred Requirements:Experience working with Department of Transportation (DOT)Experience and/or/willingness to perform SHA and other public sector workMust have team attitude and communicate effectivelyUnderstand standards and specifications of project requirementsAdditional Information : Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this positionRelocation is not available for this positionAbout AECOM AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
