Bridge Bostons robust social-emotional program is designed with an eye to supporting students who have experienced trauma in their homes and communities.CORE VALUESJoy: We try to bring a positive energy to everything we do and create opportunities to celebrate our individual and collective success.Achievement: We strive for excellence and hold each other and ourselves accountable to the highest of standards.Generosity: We look for opportunities to help one another and lift up other members of our community.Unity: We are one team and resolve our differences respectfully so we can move forward as a united front.Acceptance: We strive to create an inclusive and welcoming community where everyone feels known and valued.Resilience: We confront challenges and adversity head-on and never ever give up.Bridge Boston also has a Foundation Board that is a 501c non-profit for fundraising to support the school.Learn more about Bridge Boston here.THE POSITIONReporting to the Director of Extended Day the Extended Day Teacher willRESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIESWork all days of the programOccasionally supervise field tripsResponsible for ongoing communication with families and Extended Day DirectorParticipate in a pre-program orientation and post-program wrap-upIndependently create interactive and engaging learning experiencesWork Monday Tuesday Thursday and Friday 3pm-6:15pmEnrichment planningSupport direct instruction to students individually in small groups and in classroom settingsEstablish a productive learning environment and classroom culture in which all students are respected.Understand and implement culturally and linguistically sustaining practices.Assist with classroom management; enforce discipline code and assist with dismissal.QUALIFICATIONSHigh School DiplomaExperience with working with a diverse population of students especially historically marginalized student groups such as Black and brown students students with disabilities and English Language Learners.Have a self-starter and team player attitude working to address and resolve issues with a team focusEffective communication skills with families staff and studentsAdaptive flexible and resourceful problem solverCustomer-service orientationStrong work ethic and sense of urgencyDetail-oriented and organizedLife-long learner; willingness to make and learn from mistakes; interest in learning new thingsValues diversity and demonstrates cultural competence and sensitivityCOMPENSATION$ 30 / hrTO APPLYThe review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
