The ideal candidate will help to support a unique school culture and develop skills to support students through professional development, and coaching. Conservatory instructional support assistants work in teams with lead teachers to provide instructional and social-emotional support within the classroom. The School provides professional development integrated into the schedule every Wednesday to advance instructional practices and monitor student progress.The CLCS Instructional Support Assistant is an individual with excellent classroom management skills. The ideal candidate is flexible and can adjust to the changing demands during the SY20-21 school year. The candidate should be comfortable in the classroom and able to adapt to a remote learning environment as necessary. The candidate should be proficient working with technology and familiar with some online teaching tools.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPartner with lead teacher to support optimal learning environment for studentsWork as co-teacher/teaching assistant within the classroomImplement the lead teacher’s lesson plansReinforce lessons presented by teachers by reviewing materials one on one or in small groupsEnforce school and class rules and routines to help students maintain scholarly behaviorAssist lead teacher with record keepingLead small group and individual instruction using identified scientific, research based interventions focused specifically on individual student difficultiesMaintain records of interventions and progress monitoring to insure fidelity of implementationSupport individual students in maintaining on task behaviorsCollaborate with grade level special educators to implement supports and accommodations for individual studentsAssist the lead teacher in maintaining two way communication with families, including attending team/parent meetings as requiredProvide input to individual student success plansAssist with universal screening of studentsUtilize tracking systems to maintain lists of students participating in interventionsSupervise student groups as assigned by the scheduleSupport students in successfully transitioning while maintainingAssist teacher with maintenance of classroom environment, including preparation for lessons and breakdown of activitiesAssist with administrative duties including but not limited arrival/ dismissal, lunch and recess.Utilize feedback to reflect on skills and improve performance to improve supports for studentsSubstitute for classroom teacher during meetings, professional development as neededSupervise assigned lunch and recess dutiesPerform related duties as requested to support a safe learning environmentOther duties as assignedCLCS Job Description: "This is a full-time, on-site position."
