DescriptionIn this position...A System Engineering Team (SET) engineer acts as single point of contact between Functional Engineering and the program team ensuring and coordinating functional support and assisting functional teams in any way possible to remove roadblocks and get the job done. SET engineers are responsible for system engineering efficiency and delivery.ResponsibilitiesWhat youll do...SET 5 and SET 6 consists of the following systems of the vehicle: wheels/tires brakes suspension steering axle driveshafts fuel exhaust. A SET 5/6 engineer will:Drive functional issue resolution between functional engineering teams. (Exterior Systems & Structures IPSE EE Hardware and Underbody Systems etc.) to support program milestonesDrive cross-functional issue resolution (program finance quality attribute manufacturing STA suppliers etc.) to support program milestonesDrive system design efficiency finding solutions to reduce complexity vehicle cost and/or vehicle weightManage system cost status with D&R / finance teams by reviewing engineering analysis of design changes ensuring efficient vehicle solution is being brought forward to programReport in a weekly basis program status and progress to leadership teamLead escalation of issues when neededLead resolution of PD launch issues via AIMS CRs FCPA Alerts & other launch performance metrics for on time delivery of launch.Provide issue resolution updates to the Integration and Program teamsEnsure alignment of engineering resources to budget for all phases of the program.QualificationsYoull have...Bachelors degree in engineering or related degree.3 years of experience with one or more of the following systems:wheels/tires brakes suspension steering axle driveshafts fuel or exhaustDesign and Release Engineering or Vehicle Engineering experience is preferredStrong fundamentals and working knowledge of GPDS engineering milestones & GPDS processExperience in the Cost Setting Process and Functional Led Cost/Appearance Delivery Process a benefitOutstanding written and verbal communication skills (open clear and inclusive)Outstanding leadership skills with demonstrated ability to deliver resultsDemonstrated organizational and delegation skills with proper follow-upDemonstrated ability to manage multiple issues effectively and efficientlyDemonstrated ability to prioritize workload managing immediate and future needsAbility to build strong effective relationships with cross functional teams (Program Purchasing Finance Engineering)Onsite collaboration expected 4 days per week minimum.You may not check every box or your experience may look a little different from what weve outlined but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company we encourage you to apply!As an established global company we offer the benefit of choice.
