Job DescriptionJob DescriptionEDUCATION:5–8 years of progressive systems administration experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.EXPERIENCE:Hands-on expertise with Windows Server/Active Directory, Entra/Azure AD, Microsoft 365/Intune, and Hyper-V (Scale/HCI a plus).Proven backup & disaster recovery experience (Veeam or similar) and solid PowerShell automation skills.Working knowledge of SQL Server administration (basics), file/print services, and AD-integrated DNS/DHCP.Familiarity with regulated environments (PCI DSS preferred); casino/gaming exposure is a plus.Experience with server-room buildouts and hardware lifecycle: rack/stack servers and hosts, cable management/labeling, firmware/BIOS updates, warranty/asset tracking; coordinate with vendors and facilities (power/cooling).Basic networking fundamentals for cross-coverage (VLANs, trunk/access ports, DHCP scopes, firewall rule requests).Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and teamwork; thrives in a fast-paced, build-phase environment.Must be able to work on-site in State College, PA.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Employment is contingent upon background checks and the ability to obtain and maintain the appropriate Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) license.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Hardware & server room: Receive, rack, and cable hosts/server/storage; perform firmware/BIOS updates; maintain spares/warranties, rack elevations, and asset tags; coordinate power (PDUs/UPS), cooling, and space with Facilities.Microsoft & virtualization: Administer Windows Server/Active Directory, Entra/Azure AD, and Microsoft 365/Intune; build and maintain Hyper-V (Scale a plus) with capacity, performance, and host health monitoring.Backup & DR: Operate Veeam (or similar); run scheduled restore tests; keep DR runbooks current.Applications & databases: Provide SQL Server admin basics (backups/restores, jobs, permissions) and administer POS/back-office and gaming application servers (e.g., Konami), including vendor maintenance windows and upgrades.Security hygiene: Drive patching, endpoint detection and response (EDR), baseline hardening, and PCI-ready configurations.Core services (with Network): Manage AD-integrated DNS/DHCP and basic server-side firewall needs; coordinate deployments and patching dependencies.Cross-coverage: Provide basic backup for network tasks during absences (DNS/DHCP scope updates, switch port patching per SOP); partner with the Network Administrator to document handoffs.Support & documentation: Serve as an escalation point for the Service Desk; document repeatable fixes and maintain SOPs, runbooks, and network/server diagrams.On-call & work hours (24/7 environment): Pre-opening may require variable/extended hours to support installs, vendor schedules, soft-open rehearsals, and go-live checklists. Post-opening, participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule, including periodic evening/weekend maintenance windows and critical incidents.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Comfortable with the physical demands of installing/maintaining IT equipment (up to 50 lbs.).Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Work may occur on the casino floor and in confined network spaces.This job description is not an exclusive or exhaustive list of all job functions that an employee in this position may be asked to perform from time to time.Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process.
