The result is a collaborative positive environment where all employees regardless of their role receive the resources support and encouragement to advance and grow their careers.The CAGE has three missions:Facilitate investigator-initiated genome editing projects using CRISPR Technology Perform independent R&D to evaluate and develop new genome editing techniques Assist the gene and cell therapy programs at St. Jude Childrens Research HospitalAs Manager you will oversee a dynamic team of researchers drive operational excellence and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation. You will ensure projects run efficiently resources are optimized and scientific goals are met with the highest standards of quality and service.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage a team of at least 3 scientific staff providing mentorship and professional developmentDevelop and track performance metrics to enable data-driven decision-makingManage vendor interactions and assist in budgetary planning and decisionsPartner with investigators to design and implement genome editing strategiesOversee day-to-day operations of genome engineering projects and ensure timely deliveryDrive process improvements and champion continuous improvement across workflowsMaintain a service-oriented approach to support institutional research needsRepresent the team in meetings and communicate progress to leadershipFoster a positive inclusive and high-performance culturePreferred QualificationsExtensive experience with cell culture (experience with iPSC ESC or HSCs a plus)Strong knowledge of molecular biology and genome editing techniques (CRISPR experience preferred)Excellent organizational communication and problem-solving skillsExperience with project management and resource allocationProven ability to inspire motivate and develop teamsTrack record of managing complex workflows and delivering resultsTakes initiative and accountability for outcomesThrives under pressure and can prioritize tasks based on team needsExcited by challenges and committed to staying on the cutting edge of scienceDedicated to supporting investigators and advancing institutional goalsTake pride in a job well done and instills that mindset within the teamDemonstrated experience directly managing a multi-person team including responsibility for hiring and performance management.Proven track record of developing staff through mentorship professional growth opportunities and strategic team-building initiatives.Minimum Education and/or Training:Bachelors degree in a relevant scientific discipline is required.Minimum Experience:7 years of experience in relevant technical field (industry or academia) is required with a Bachelors degree..5 years of experience in relevant technical field is required with a Masters degree.2 years of experience in relevant technical field is required with a PhD.Experience managing at least 1-2 people preferred.Extensive experience leading projects/processes end to end including resource planning and management and communication and collaboration with internal cross-functional teams and external partners preferred.Experience leading and mentoring teams preferred.Proven performance in earlier role/comparable role.BenefitsYour health and well-being are important to us.
