Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is looking for an Experienced Mechanical Systems Test Engineer to join the Systems Laboratory team in Seattle, WA.This position is on the leading edge of aerospace systems development and are responsible for the verification and validation of mechanical airplane systems. In addition, this will also include:Designing test systems to simulate loads. Systems may be active or passive, hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanicalDesigning test structures, load systems, environmental enclosures, and simulated control surfacesTest actuators and systems including primary and secondary flight controls and landing gearTest aircraft hydraulic components including pumps, accumulators, tubing, hoses, fittings, reservoirs, valves, fluids, etc.Test hydraulic systems and sub-systemsSimulate aircraft flight deck for engineering testing of avionic/ human interfacesPosition Responsibilities:Supports the development and verification of test methodsDevelops detailed test procedures, and instrumentation and configuration definition, needed to perform the test and minimize risk within the constraints of the test planDevelops solutions to calibration systems problems of limited scope and impactDesigns test hardware, software and systems to achieve test requirementsUses analytical tools to verify the designAnalyzes, processes, and formats data to customer requirementsReviews test data, including off-nominal data, for accuracy, quality and/or fidelity prior to delivery to customerPrepares and publishes test reports to document test results and satisfy requirementsPresents test results internallyArchives data and reportsTrains othersWorks under general directionBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement3+ years of experience with 3D modeling toolsExperience using all the following Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)Experience documenting and clearly communicating test results to customersPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical EngineeringFamiliarity in closed loop controlsExperience in hydraulic systems, load systems, and mechanical designExperience following processes, procedures, and specificationsExperience performing laboratory testing to standards (i.e. ASTM, SAE)Drug Free Workplace:Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Union: This is a union-represented position.Shift:This role is primarily first shift; however, there may be additional shift requirements to support program objectives.Pay & Benefits: At Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
