Working within Illuminas Systems Engineering and Integration team you will be responsible for investigating and resolving system-level platform issues and supporting system verification and validation activities for planned platform changes.Responsibilities:Hands-on testing and integration of systems: hardware software chemistry and application componentsUse mechanical optical fluidics electronics and chemistry knowledge to troubleshoot system-level sequencing instrument issuesCollaborate with all functions within development teams (Engineering Chemistry Development Consumables Software Field Service Manufacturing etc.)Provide product support for pre- and post-launch activitiesPerform testing and troubleshooting to gather data and make technical recommendationsSupport investigation experiments and design verification test plansLaboratory work requires a minimum of 80% time onsiteUse of Confluence Jira MS 365 and other collaborative software to aid in fleet management allocation issue tracking and other laboratory administrative tasksOccasional travel to support instrumentation builds and troubleshootingEducation:BS/MS in Bioengineering Mechanical Engineering Systems Engineering Electrical Engineering or a related engineering/scientific fieldOR a BS/MS in an unrelated field with engineering/scientific work experienceRequired Qualifications:Typically requires a minimum of 0-2 years of related experience with a Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field; or equivalent work experience.Basic laboratory experienceGood data analysis skills and a logical approach to problem solving skillsHigh degree of detail orientation and documentationRoot cause analysis methodology and executionPreferred Skills & Experience:Demonstrated ability to understand and successfully work across multiple disciplines such as engineering software and manufacturing highly desiredWork experience in biotech or medical device fieldUnderstanding of sequencing systems and techniques helpfulSolid communication and writing skillsExperience with statistical analysis and data analysis programs (JMP MATLAB Microsoft Excel)Experience working in regulated environments e.g. CLIA ISO 13485 cGMP/cGLP IVDAll listed requirements are deemed as essential functions to this position; however business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional task and responsibilities.#LI-HYBRID#LI-ONSITEThe estimated base salary range for the Systems Support Engineer 1 role based in the United States of America is: $73400 - $110200. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including but not limited to an individuals qualifications location where the role is to be performed internal equity and alignment with market data.
