JOB DESCRIPTION

Talent Acquisition Specialist

We are seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join a mission-driven nonprofit organization in San Diego dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the community. In this role, you will manage full-cycle recruitment and partner closely with hiring managers to attract top talent across a wide range of positions. You will lead sourcing, screening, interviewing, onboarding coordination, and hiring support while delivering an exceptional experience for both candidates and hiring managers. The ideal candidate brings strong recruiting expertise, knowledge of HR processes, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Manage full-cycle recruitment, including intake meetings, job postings, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer preparation, and pre-employment activities

Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and provide guidance throughout the hiring process

Develop and execute sourcing strategies using job boards, professional networks, community partnerships, and other recruitment channels

Screen applicants, coordinate interviews, facilitate assessments, and support selection recommendations

Maintain accurate applicant tracking system records and recruitment documentation

Provide timely communication to candidates to ensure a positive recruitment experience

Coordinate onboarding activities, including pre-employment requirements and new hire readiness

Develop and maintain recruitment resources, templates, and hiring tools

Support classification reviews, promotions, transfers, and position-related changes

Conduct compensation research and market benchmarking to support recruitment decisions

Utilize HRIS and applicant tracking systems to manage recruitment workflows and reporting

Prepare recruitment metrics and staffing reports for leadership

Collaborate with HR team members on recruitment initiatives and process improvements

Stay current on talent acquisition trends, sourcing strategies, and best practices

Perform other related duties as assigned

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, staffing, or human resources

Experience recruiting within nonprofit, healthcare, social services, or other complex operational environments preferred

Experience with Paycom required

Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred

Strong knowledge of full-cycle recruiting, sourcing strategies, onboarding, and employment practices

Experience with applicant tracking systems, HRIS platforms, recruitment metrics, and compensation benchmarking

Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
