The Tax Accountant will assist with tax preparation filings and financial reporting while supporting the team in maintaining compliance and identifying process efficiencies. RequirementsEssential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Prepare workpapers and supporting documentation for external CPA firm and auditsSupport quarterly estimated payments extensions and annual filingsResearch basic tax law changes and regulatory updates affecting the businessPrepare and file state sales tax returnsSupport accounting month end closing processGeneral bookkeeping & reconciliationsIdentify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the tax workflowSupervisory ResponsibilityNot applicableWork EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.TravelIn-Office 1 day a week.Required Education and ExperiencePunctuality and timely attendance to external client and internal stakeholder needs.12 years of experience in tax accounting (public accounting or private industry).Bachelors degree in accounting finance or related field.Experience with Sage Intacct a plus.Preferred Qualifications and ExperienceCPA or CPA-eligible preferred but not required.Residence in Eastern time zone preferred.Highly detail orientedExcellent organizational skillsAbility to effectively prioritize competing tasks and projectsAble to clearly communicate verbally and in writingAbility to think critically and problem solve effectivelyProficient in Microsoft Excel Word and OutlookOther DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
