Tax and Estate Planning/Probate Attorney at Les S Kushner PA
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a qualified tax and estate planning attorney with 2-5+ years of relevant experience to join the firm. The ideal candidate will have broad experience in all areas of trusts, estates, and taxes. The attorney will represent clients in the administration of trusts and estates, and prepare probate pleadings and related legal matters as well as prepare and/or review tax returns including 1040s, 1041s and 706s and 709s. The attorney will work on a wide variety of cases and possess exemplary communication and analytical skills, attention to detail, strong project management experience, and the ability to effectively manage time and handle multiple projects.
Prior knowledge of Tax Preparation is not required, but preferred
Duties/Responsibilities
- Reviewing and analyzing wills and trust agreements, estate matters
- Advocating on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation, and forming a strategy for a plan of action.
- Drafting wills, trusts, power of attorney, and other legal documents.
- Meeting with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects.
- Preparing and/or reviewing Florida Probate pleadings and other documents for sophisticated trust and estate administration matters.
- Preparing and/or reviewing initial drafts of trust and estate-related tax returns, including Forms 706 and 709
- Preparing and/or reviewing tax returns for individuals and trusts (1040/1041)
Required Skills/Abilities
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be highly organized and detail-oriented with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters.
- Ability to perform tasks utilizing legal office software such as document management and billing software.
- Full proficiency with advanced, multifunction word processing software including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and PDF programs).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion and good judgment.
- Ability to work independently and within a team is essential.
Education and Experience
- Admitted to and in good standing with the Florida Bar
- CPA a plus
