This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with clients on complex tax matters related to mergers and acquisitions (M&A), succession planning, and a variety of business law transactions.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. This position can be part-time or full-time, depending on the candidate's preferences (compensation commensurate with experience and work hours). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice on a wide range of tax matters, including business transactions, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and other related tax issues. Responsibilities:

As a Tax Attorney, your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Providing expert legal advice on a wide range of tax matters, including business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and other related issues.
2. Representing the company during tax audits and proceedings.
3. Developing and implementing effective tax strategies to minimize the company's tax liabilities and ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
4. Reviewing and advising on the tax implications of proposed business transactions and initiatives.
5. Preparing and reviewing tax returns and other related documents.
6. Keeping abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations and advising management on the potential impact of such changes on the company's operations.
7. Working closely with other members of the legal team to address and resolve complex legal issues.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must have:

1. A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. 5-15 years of experience as a tax attorney, with a strong focus on business transactions, mergers and acquisitions.
3. A thorough understanding of tax laws and regulations, with a particular focus on those related to business transactions and M&A.
4. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
5. Strong negotiation and communication skills.
6. The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. A high degree of professional ethics and integrity.
8. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
9. Proficiency in using legal research tools and software.
10. CPA or LLM in Tax Law is desirable but not required.
