You are a person committed to honoring diversity equity & inclusion within our department and our organization.More about the job:This position provides direct customer service to the public and county employees in person and by phone or email by providing current and accurate information pertaining primarily to property tax payments including properties in bankruptcy or tax foreclosure and manufactured structure ownership records. This position is responsible for processing manufactured structure ownership transfers foreclosure redemption certificates senior/disabled deferral applications and mailed property tax payments. You will also assist with research on delinquent tax collections through the foreclosure and/or tax warrant process.As the Tax Collections Technician (classification of Assessment & Taxation Technician 1) with the Division of Assessment Recording and Taxation (DART) in recording your role will be to:Cash Handling/Payment ProcessingProcess payments at the counter from single transactions to complex multiple transactions in addition to providing overrides for Customer Relations foreclosure paymentsScan verify and post mailed tax paymentsBalance cash drawer daily as usedEmpty lobby and external drop box dailySort open and distribute mailProcess all incoming non-cash payments on the Cannon remittance processorBusiness Operational Support DutiesReview and process manufactured structure ownership transfersPrepare advance tax slips/bills and calculate advance taxes for partition plats sub-divisions and business accounts that are closing or selling prior to certificationAnswer internal and external customer inquiries via phone and emailExplain rules regulations and county ordinances with a focus on ORS 311 and ORS 312Provide additional administrative support for work unit processes such as preparing mailings and organizing returned mailTo QualifyWe will consider any combination of relevant work experience volunteering education and transferable skills as qualifying unless an item or section is labeled required.
