Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWho We AreOur Purpose: We exist to provide solutions and create value through our professional services for businesses, individuals, and nonprofits in our community.Our Vision: We are committed to utilizing our position as the preeminent independent accounting and professional services firm in Central Virginia to make a positive difference for our clients and our community.Our Mission: We will use our expertise and entrepreneurial spirit to: Nurture future leaders through a supportive, challenging, and enjoyable work environmentProvide the highest quality professional services to our clients Utilize our outstanding team and maximize their effectiveness by promoting a healthy balance between work and daily lifeWork with clients and team members to accomplish their desired resultsResponsibilitiesClosely held business and pass-through entity specialization required Multi-state experience with corporate, pass-through, and 1040 clients Plan, manage and develop the company's tax process and compliance-related activitiesDeliver a full range of tax and advisory servicesManage and support members of the accounting and tax teamsResearch, organize and review client tax documentationDelegate projects to appropriate team membersReview the work of team members and peers and provide feedbackTrack reporting deadlines for clients and manage filing of extensions and estimates when applicableMonitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments and create strategies to  capitalize on changes to tax legislation and educate team members and clientsConsult with clients regarding various tax and accounting mattersPerform research on tax and accounting topics as requiredDevelop tax plans for individual and business clientsAssist with in-house training for professional team membersWhat we’re looking forBachelor's/Master’s degree in accounting/Tax Certified Public Accountant (required)4- 10 years experience in public accountingState and local tax experience is preferred Recent experience managing tax engagements Up-to-date working knowledge of U.S. accounting, tax principles & IRS regulations Strong leadership and communication skillsProactive individual with the ability to work independently and collaboratively Excellent verbal & written communication skillsCuriosity/eagerness to learn and to teach and share knowledge Analytical problem-solving abilities Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (required)Experience with QuickBooks & QuickBooks Online (required) Experience with CCH/Axcess – Tax, Scan/Autoflow, Workflow, Document, Engagement (preferred)The perks!Career growth opportunitiesCompetitive salary compensation based on experiencePaid holidays and paid time offFull benefits including:401k and profit-sharing planMedicalDental VisionHSAFSALife InsurancePowered by JazzHR76PSPypASg
