About the Job: Tax Manager (CPA) Location: Chicago IL Job Type: Full-Time In-Person Compensation: $95000 $125000 per year (based on experience) About the Company: We are an established tax and accounting firm serving individuals small businesses and other organizations throughout the Chicago area. Position Overview: We are seeking a Tax Manager (CPA) with approximately 5 7 years of experience in preparing and reviewing tax returns maintaining bookkeeping records and providing client-facing service. This full-time on-site role is based in our Chicago office and is well suited for a professional who can independently manage a book of clients oversee the end-to-end compliance process and lead tax engagements with minimal supervision. Primary Responsibilities: Review tax returns prepared by staff (1040 Schedule C 1065 1 and others) Sign and submit accurate returns and reports to the IRS and state departments of revenue Serve as the primary point of contact for clients answering questions about return results and advising on future action items Additional Responsibilities: Hire train and support junior and senior-level staff and administrative assistants Collaborate with leadership on process improvements technology adoption and workflow efficiency Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and accounting regulations Proactively advise clients regarding the tax implications of future life events Develop strategies to optimize tax outcomes for clients Work closely with the office team to ensure accuracy and client satisfaction Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field Active CPA license (Illinois or reciprocal) Expertise in tax compliance and preparation Proficiency in tax planning and strategy Strong knowledge of tax law and regulations Experience with professional tax and practice management software Ability to manage workload independently Willingness to collaborate with administrative staff accounting team members and firm leadership What We Offer: Salary: $95000 $125000 based on experience Performance-based bonuses after tax and extension seasons Flexible schedule outside of tax season Paid time off and holidays Continuing education and CPA license support Medical dental and vision insurance 401(k) with employer match Key Skills Tax Experience,Accounting Software,GAAP,QuickBooks,Accounting,Sage,Account Reconciliation,Analysis Skills,Research Experience,SOX,Microsoft Excel,Financial Analysis Employment Type : Full Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
