Job Summary:The Tax Senior Project Manager, Digital Transformation & Innovation (Senior Manager) is a key leader within the BDO Tax Digital Transformation and Innovation team, focusing on managing and delivering technology development projects. The Senior Manager brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to ensure the successful execution of projects from initiation to closure, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.The ideal candidate has a robust background in project management with a deep understanding of both waterfall and agile development methodologies, allowing for a flexible and effective approach to project delivery. This role requires strong leadership skills to oversee the technology product and guide the project team towards achieving project goals.The Senior Project Manager collaborates closely with business stakeholders, DT&I product management and deployment teams, and software developers to create and implement comprehensive project plans. They will play a crucial role in assisting and guiding technology solutions that meet the needs of our clients and professionals, ensuring alignment with business objectives and driving innovation within the organization.Job Duties:Oversees the project planning and implementation of project plans of technology development projects within the Tax Digital Transformation and Innovation portfolioWorks closely with the Product Manager and Deployment Lead to ensure project alignment with product objectives and company goals are being met in accordance with agreed project plansUtilizes a hybrid project management approach, incorporating elements of both waterfall and agile methodologies, to effectively manage project timelines, scope, and resourcesOversees project financials and budget to actual projectionsEmploys project management tools and software to track project progress, manage resources, and communicate status updates to stakeholdersFacilitates communication and collaboration among project team members and stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of project objectives, timelines, and deliverablesIdentifies and manages project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project successEnsures project documentation is maintained and updated throughout the project lifecycleConducts post-project evaluations to capture learnings and improve future project management practicesManages large-scale, complex projects and programs, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budgetConducts regular project status meetings and reviews, providing updates and reports to stakeholdersFacilitates effective communication among stakeholders, including clients, team members, and Tax leadershipOther duties as requiredSupervisory Responsibilities:Mentors and coaches junior project managers and team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional developmentActs as a Career Advisor as assignedQualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Education:Bachelor’s Degree, required; focus in Business, Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Information Technology, preferredExperience:Eight (8) or more years of experience with project management, mentoring teams, and software development lifecycle, requiredEight (8) or more years of experience serving as a project manager, project coordinator, or similar role, with a focus on technology development projects, preferredExperience working in the tax or accounting professional services industry tax, preferredExperience working with multinational teams, preferredLicense/Certifications:Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified, preferredScrum Master or Agile Certified Practitioner, preferredSoftware:Proficient with project management tools, requiredLanguage(s):N/AOther Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teamsExcellent facilitation skillsStrong knowledge of project management principlesStrong knowledge of software development lifecycleStrong organizational skills, specifically the ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on detailsStrong leadership skillsStrong problem-solving and conflict resolution skillsAbility to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously Self-motivated and disciplined person that is passionate about collaborating and coaching othersAbility to successfully interact with professionals at all levelsIndividual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.National Range:  $170,000 - $275,000Maryland Range:  $170,000 - $275,000NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range:  $170,000 - $275,000Join us at BDO, where you will find more than a career, you’ll find a place where your work is impactful, and you are valued for your individuality.
