Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJOB TITLE: Teacher Assistant DEPARTMENT: Childcare CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt CATEGORY: EssentialDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Implementing the Teacher's lesson plans and maintaining daily classroom schedulesSupporting each child's social, emotional and intellectual growthEnsuring the wellbeing and safety of children at all timesUsing a variety of instructional and assessment strategies, as directed by the teacher to meet individual student needsAssist with classroom recordkeeping duties as directed by Teacher.Report all injuries/accidents to Center Director that occur during shift.Maintain client, employee, and agency confidentiality.Assist with meal delivery service to children in accordance with Child Care Center standards.Maintaining communication with parents, staff and faculty regarding the progress of studentsCommunicate observations to teacherInteract with children during planned activities for the dayAdhere to procedures in toddler care such as potty-training, nap time, etc. Be willing to gain more knowledge, experience, and training in the field of Early Childhood Development by attending tribal, state, and national child care meetings/trainings.Other duties as assignedREQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or GEDCertificate in early childhood education and care or willing to obtain with 1 year of employmentCertificate in mandatory reporter, first aid and CPR or willing to obtain within the first month of employmentKnowledge of child developmentPatience, flexibility and love for childrenStrong communication skillsBe able to lift children assigned to your care multiple times dailyMaintain classroom cleanlinessMust pass enhanced background checkSUPERVISION:- Supervised by the Child Care Center DirectorSALARY LEVEL:- Annual Salary Range: $27,601 - $35,172Applicants will be required to submit to a background check and to a pre-employment drug test.Job Posted by ApplicantPro
