Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This full-time contract opportunity is perfect for a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI). You will travel to multiple schools within the county to provide specialized instruction and resources, enriching educational experiences for visually impaired students across a diverse, school-aged caseload.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification with endorsement as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
  • Experience working with students who have visual impairments, ideally within school settings
  • Proficient in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with staff and families
  • Ability to travel between schools within the county as part of an itinerant schedule
  • Passion for empowering students with visual impairments to reach their full potential

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and consultative support to meet the unique needs of each student
  • Develop adaptive materials, assistive technology, and learning strategies to maximize student access
  • Work closely with general education teachers and team members to ensure an inclusive classroom environment
  • Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and contribute to IEP meetings
  • Foster independence and self-advocacy skills in school-aged students
