Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This rewarding opportunity is ideal for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVIs) ready to make a difference by providing specialized instruction to school-aged students across multiple sites within the county.
In this itinerant role, you'll travel to different schools, using your expertise to support a diverse caseload and help each student access their educational curriculum. Your ability to adapt, collaborate, and communicate will contribute to meaningful learning outcomes for children with visual impairments.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Previous experience working with school-aged students with visual impairments
- Strong organizational and time management skills to support a flexible, multi-site schedule
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating with educators, families, and support staff
- Passion for promoting independence and inclusion for students with visual needs
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction, support, and resources to students with visual impairments across a range of schools within the county
- Assess students' needs and adapt curriculum materials appropriately
- Develop, monitor, and update IEPs in close collaboration with school teams
- Offer consultative services to classroom teachers on best practices for inclusion
- Travel between schools as part of a county-wide itinerant team
