ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCYThe Social Work program at EMU has been fully accredited for 50 years by the Council of Social Work Education and was a founding member of the Virginia Social Work Education Consortium. There is a tradition of long time collaboration with program graduates and service providers in the Harrisonburg Virginia area. The university is known for its pioneering work in restorative justice.POSITION: Tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in Social WorkQUALIFICATIONS: DSW, PhD or EdD required and MSW required. Experience in college teaching and program accreditation and assessment preferred. RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach in CSWE-accredited social work program and general education curriculum at the undergraduate level in a residential settingBuild program capacity for online social work course offerings and the addition of a master’s in social work degreeContribute specific expertise in social stratification, diversity, race, and gender Engage in ongoing academic scholarship in social work, including research collaborations with students Remain current in the field of social work and best practices in social work educationProvide faculty service to EMU at the departmental and university levelsPOSITION DETAILS: Nine-month contract. 24 semester hours per year. Salary determined by education and experience.
