OverviewEagle Metalcraft located in Syracuse NY is seeking a detail-oriented and versatile individual to join our team as a Technical Estimator/ Customer Service. This dual-role position will play a critical part in ensuring accurate job cost estimation for customer quotes while also providing administrative and customer-facing support in the front office. The ideal candidate will possess both analytical and interpersonal skills capable of balancing technical estimating tasks with front-line communication and coordination duties..ResponsibilitiesEstimating (50%)Review RFQs (Requests for Quotes) technical drawings and specifications to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates.Calculate material labor tooling and subcontracting costs for jobs in a timely manner.Collaborate with production engineering and purchasing teams to validate job feasibility and pricing strategies.Prepare formal quote documents and proposals for customers.Track update and maintain historical quoting data and project cost records.Monitor market trends in raw materials and labor to maintain up-to-date pricing strategies.Front Office Support (50%)Greet and assist walk-in customers vendors and visitors; maintain a professional and welcoming front office environment.Answer phone calls and respond to general inquiries or route them to the appropriate departments.Handle mail distribution filing supply ordering and basic clerical duties.Support the sales and production teams with administrative tasks such as data entry document prep and scheduling.Assist with maintaining customer and vendor databases including contact details and quote/job status.Help coordinate company meetings facility tours and customer visits.Min Compensation USD $18.00/Hr.Max Compensation USD $25.00/Hr.QualificationsExperience with Paperless Parts a PlusHigh school diploma or equivalent required; associates or technical degree preferred.2 years of experience in estimating office administration or a related rolepreferably in manufacturing construction or technical services.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Outlook Word); experience with ERP or quoting software is a plus.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings is a strong advantage.Excellent communication skillsboth written and verbal.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Professional demeanor and customer-service mindset.Working ConditionsFull-time position; standard business hours with occasional overtime based on deadlines.On-site office-based environment with regular interaction across departments.Company WebsiteCompany ProfileFounded in 1953 as the Eagle Manufacturing Company we began primarily as a welding shop.
