Shop Technical Coordinator SF Metalworks Ability to commute to Colusa CA OnsiteAbout the RoleWe are a California-based architectural metalworking shop committed to precision craftsmanship and collaboration. As our operations grow were seeking a Shop Technical Coordinator-a process-focused detail-oriented leader who can coordinate daily workflow support our fabricators and maintain high standards across the shop.Youll be on the shop floor daily welding fabricating and mentoring while setting the standard for quality and efficiency. While a technical background in metalworking is important this role is centered on coordination quality assurance process management and team support. Youll play a key role in improving communication organizing work and ensuring the shop runs efficiently day to day.If youre a seasoned metalworker who thrives on teaching building and leading by example this is the role for you.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and schedule daily tasks for fabricators welders and CNC operators to keep production on track.Provide mentorship coaching and support to team members to improve skills and performance.Oversee quality control throughout production including in-process checks and final reviews.Ensure accurate interpretation of drawings project specs and fabrication details across the team.Maintain and streamline shop processes workflow systems and documentation.Uphold safety standards and OSHA compliance across all shop activities.Support fabrication or welding tasks when needed to keep production moving smoothly.Maintain a clean organized and efficient shop environment.QualificationsRequired:5-7 years of experience in welding fabrication or architectural metalwork.Proven ability to weld fabricate and finish decorative and structural metals.Expertise in welding techniques (MIG TIG Stick) and metal finishing.Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.Experience in training a shop floor team.Commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards.Preferred:Experience in custom architectural projects (gates railings stairs decorative panels).Knowledge of CNC machinery and metalworking tools.Strong portfolio of completed work demonstrating craftsmanship.Who This Role Is ForThis role is ideal for someone who:Is a skilled welder/fabricator who takes pride in their craft.Enjoys teaching and leading others while working alongside them.Can balance quality craftsmanship with meeting deadlines.Thrives in a hands-on fast-paced shop environment.CompensationHourly Pay: $40 - $50 based on experienceSchedule: Four-day work week (Monday-Thursday 5:00 am - 3:30 pm)Benefits Include:Paid Time Off (PTO)8 Paid HolidaysGenerous Benefits (If Applicable)Equal Employment OpportunityWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
