ResponsibilitiesPeraton is seeking skilled and qualified candidates for their Electronic Technician II position with the Postal CRF program located in Topeka KS.The Electronic Technicianworks at the United States Postal Service (USPS) Central Repair Facility (CRF) in Topeka CRF is a depot repair facility for USPS mail processing delivery and bulk mail systems repairable parts. Examples: repairing printed circuit boards electrical electronic mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies to component level. The CRF provides depot level maintenance for essential automation mechanization retail and bulk mail processing systems used in all mail processing and retail installations.Our electronic technicians apply comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems in various types of electronic equipment.Job specific tasks include:Perform testing and repair of simple to complex electronic and electromechanical equipment using common hand tools and general to more complex test equipment (e.g. multimeters power supplies signal generators frequency counters oscilloscopes Teradyne etc.)Diagnose and repair items to the component levelReceive technical guidance as required from supervisor or higher level technician and work is reviewed for specific compliance with accepted practices and work assignmentsMay provide technical guidance to lower level techniciansPerforms other related duties as assigned#CRF2025QualificationsBasic Qualifications:High school graduate or equivalent with two years related experienceMust have Formal electronics training from an accredited program or equivalent military trainingU.S. CitizenshipAbility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.Must have knowledge and ability to perform component level repairs on simple to high complexity electronic/electromechanical itemsMastery of troubleshooting techniquesMicroprocessor/microcomputer theory solid state electronics and digital and analog theory trainingUnderstanding of general test equipmentKnowledge of schematic symbols values and their meaningPreferred Qualifications:Experience with handling of ESD sensitive itemsJ-STD-001 certificationISCET Certified Electronic Technician (CET) certificationPhysical Requirements:Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 poundsPhysical activity may include climbing stooping kneeling crouching reaching standing walking pushing pulling lifting grasping feeling talking hearing and repetitive motionRequired to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as viewing a computer terminalVisual inspection involving small defects small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection)Subject to hazards. Salary is determined by various factors including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position the individuals experience education knowledge skills and competencies as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
