The team leads the design and delivery of a trusted unified data foundation, AI-driven data analytics and insights, and AI solutions across lululemon’s vertically integrated retail ecosystem, while embedding strong data governance and responsible AI practices from the very beginning. By applying AI to critical business challenges and creating new, transformative AI solutions, the team helps reshape how lululemon operates. Through deep partnership with product, technology, and business teams, Enterprise Data & AI accelerates product innovation, unlocks measurable value, elevates guest and educator experiences, and drives enterprise efficiency. Core responsibilities As a Director, Enterprise Data Platforms, you are accountable for the design, delivery, and continuous operation of the enterprise data platform that supports data and analytics across the organization. You will create the enterprise data architecture blueprint and lead the build of the enterprise data platform to enable data discovery and aggregation, and downstream consumption into systems, reports, analytics, and AI workloads. You will drive operational excellence focusing on availability, observability, security and access controls, reliability, and performance.You will enable business outcomes by delivering standardized, reusable platform services that support data product and analytics teams, while driving improvements in platform efficiency, scalability, and self-service capabilities. You work in close partnership with the architecture, data governance, insights, analytics, and AI teams, and with business stakeholders to ensure alignment of the platform build with enterprise standards and evolving business needs.Select responsibilities include: Deliver and operate enterprise data platform capabilitiesOwn the execution, delivery, and operation of core enterprise data platforms, including data lakes, warehouses, ingestion, and transformationEnsure platform reliability, scalability, performance, and security to meet enterprise standards and SLAsDrive adoption of self-service data capabilities that enable internal data consumersEnable data integration and accessibilityLead development of robust data integration capabilities including batch and real-time pipelines (ETL/ELT, streaming, APIs, CDC)Provide standardized, reusable frameworks to simplify data ingestion, processing, and access across the organizationEnable timely and high-quality data delivery for business-critical use cases; enable teams to discover, aggregate and consume data for analytics and AI use-casesDrive data governance, quality, and compliancePartner with data governance and security teams to ensure adherence to enterprise data policies, standards, and regulatory requirements for data accessEmbed data quality, lineage, and observability practices within platform capabilitiesPromote trusted, well-governed data assets across the organizationOptimize platform engineering practicesLead adoption of modern data engineering tools, technologies, and best practices (e.g., cloud-native architectures, distributed processing frameworks)Improve operational efficiency through automation, monitoring, and optimization of platform services and data ops.Continuously enhance developer experience and platform usability for your engineering teams, including the use of AI across the software development lifecycle.Manage operational execution and deliveryTranslate sub-functional strategy into actionable roadmaps and execution plansDeliver against defined objectives for quality, timeliness, and platform performanceManage budgets, resources, and priorities to ensure efficient and effective deliveryPartner cross-functionally to support business outcomesCollaborate with data product, analytics, AI, and business stakeholders to align platform capabilities with evolving needsSupport delivery teams with scalable and secure data access patterns and toolingEnsure platform readiness to support new use cases and growing data volumesLead and develop team membersBuild and lead a high-performing data platform engineering organizationFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and technical excellenceEnsure strong hiring, onboarding, development, and succession planning practices aligned with the company’s diversity and inclusion commitmentsQualifications Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field, or equivalent experience; Master's degree beneficial 8–10+ years of experience engineering data platforms and services in large-scale or complex environments 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams with data engineering and data platform focusStrong expertise in data engineering, cloud data platforms, enterprise data architecture, and distributed data processing technologies Experience building and operating enterprise-grade data infrastructure, including data lakes, warehouses, and streaming platforms Demonstrated ability to manage operational execution while supporting broader strategic objectives Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills across technical and business teams Experience working within established data strategies and governance frameworksmust havesAcknowledge the presence of choice in every moment and take personal responsibility for your life.Possess an entrepreneurial spirit and continuously innovate to achieve great results. The typical hiring range for this position is from $205,900 - $270,300 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program and equity offerings, subject to program eligibility requirements.
