Job Details Kalispell MT Part Time Certification $26.00 - $45.00 Hourly TemporaryJob Description DEPARTMENT AND LOCATION OF JOB:Disability Services Student Support Services Learning Resource Center FVCC Kalispell CampusELIGIBILITY:Open to All Qualified Sign Language InterpretersPAY RANGE:$26.00 to $45.00 per hour depending on Certification and experiencerSTATUS AND SCHEDULE:Temporary as needed based on student needs flexible schedule between Monday and Sunday which may include occasional evening hours; may work up to 5 hours a week class time with up to 2 hours a week of paid preparation time; non-benefit eligibleDRESS CODE:Casual with appropriate coverageSUMMARY Under minimal supervision supports students with disabilities by providing interpreter servicesESSENTIAL DUTIESArrive on time to students classes and deliver interpretation and transliteration services between individuals using spoken English and the student using American Sign LanguageProvide other educationally-related interpreter services such as meetings between a student and FVCC staff and instructors as arranged to best match student and interpreters schedulesCoordinate services with instructors to prepare for classes as neededDemonstrate linguistic and cultural competency required by professional interpreting servicesFollow the professional code of ethics for interpretersDemonstrate respect for client students and FVCC faculty and staffAdhere to standards of confidential communicationPerforms other like duties as assignedReports to Coordinator Disability ServicesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSSkills equal to EIPA Level 4-5 OR commiserate experiencePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSCurrent RID Certification(s)KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIESAbility to meet the unique needs of a student who is deaf in an educational environmentDemonstrated fluidity in voice-to-sign and sign-to-voice skills in an educational environmentAbility to clearly conveying aspects and meanings of college contentFacilitate and support participation social communication and advocacy for students who are deafAPPLICATION PROCEDURE:In order to be considered for this position applicants must apply online at paper submission of applications or resume materials are not accepted for open positions.
