People just like you.Role OverviewThe TEMPEST Engineer will participate in the testing of high assurance encryption products required to comply with NSA TEMPEST specifications and other TEMPEST directives. TEMPEST experience and testing expertise will be used to perform engineering and formal TEMPEST testing as well as execute production TEMPEST testing audits on a sample of the production volume. This role will act as a TEMPEST advocate to the product hardware development team and train/mentor others in TEMPEST testing techniques.Roles and ResponsibilitiesSet up Equipment under test (EUT) in accordance with TEMPEST Test PlanSetup and operate test equipment to exercise EUT for TEMPEST testingTroubleshoot and debug test failures to ensure the source of the failure is knownMaintain and organize Test Equipment and Test ChambersProperly execute TEMPEST test methods and signal analysis perform Test set up ambient measurementsAssist the responsible CTPII with the creation of TEMPEST Test Plans/ProceduresConduct TEMPEST testing in accordance with NSTISSAM TEMPEST/1-92 and other TEMPEST specifications and memorandaCapture Test Data photographs drawings and other data necessary to create a TEMPEST Test reportParticipate in the execution of Engineering pre-compliance TEMPEST testing and Formal certification TEMPEST testingExecute production sample TEMPEST testing and data reportingParticipate in the Certification of a new state-of-the-art TEMPEST facility and assist with certification under the TEMPEST Manufacturing and Test Services ProgramTravel up to 20%Required QualificationsBachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 7 years of experience in TEMPEST)Minimum of 3 years of experience in TEMPESTThis role requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship.Preferred QualificationsBachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or related disciplineExpert knowledge of NSTISSAM TEMPEST/1-92 and related NSA technical memorandumsExperience using test equipment such as TEMPEST receivers Oscilloscopes signal generators power meters and other general RF and laboratory equipmentExperience working with a multidisciplinary team to evaluate and troubleshoot production related issuesMilitary TEMPEST Testing experienceEMI/EMC Testing experience to MIL-STD-461 or DO-160#securityclearanceThis role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
