Job Description
GFL Environmental is seeking a driven and customer-focused Territory Manager to grow our presence and deliver exceptional environmental solutions within an assigned geographic region. This hybrid role combines remote work field-based customer visits and periodic time in the local GFL office. The Territory Manager is responsible for developing new business managing key accounts and ensuring customers receive the high-quality service that GFL is known for.Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business DevelopmentIdentify and pursue new business opportunities across solid waste recycling and related environmental services.Conduct site visits and waste assessments to understand customer needs and propose effective service solutions.Prepare pricing proposals and contract renewals that support profitable growth.Achieve or exceed territory sales targets and contribute to regional growth strategies.Customer Relationship ManagementServe as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts ensuring exceptional service delivery.Build strong relationships with clients through proactive communication and regular on-site engagement.Resolve service concerns quickly by coordinating with operations dispatch and customer service teams.Strengthen customer retention through consistent follow-up value-added recommendations and service optimization.Territory Strategy & Market DevelopmentDevelop and execute a comprehensive territory plan aligned with GFLs business objectives.Stay informed about regional market conditions competition and industry trends.Attend industry events community meetings and networking opportunities to enhance GFLs visibility in the market.Operational CollaborationPartner with internal teams to ensure timely accurate and safe delivery of services.Communicate customer needs service adjustments and operational requirements clearly and promptly.Support service changes container adjustments and new account setups through effective coordination with field teams.QualificationsRequired13 years of territory sales or account management experience (environmental services or waste industry preferred).Strong communication negotiation and presentation capabilities.Proven ability to work independently prioritize tasks and manage a large geographic territory.Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office applications.Valid drivers license and ability to travel regularly within the assigned region.PreferredExperience in waste management recycling industrial services or related environmental fields.Knowledge of local regulatory requirements and commercial waste operations.Key CompetenciesCustomer-centric mindsetStrong business development acumenRelationship building & account managementStrategic territory planningProblem solving & adaptabilityCollaboration with operations and cross-functional teamsWorking ConditionsHybrid work environment combining remote work field visits and periodic office days.Regular travel to customer sites and GFL facilities.Occasional visits to transfer stations landfills and operational facilities requiring PPE.Why Join GFL EnvironmentalCompetitive compensation commissions and performance incentives.Comprehensive benefits including health dental vision and retirement programs.Opportunities for long-term career growth within one of North Americas fastest-growing environmental services companies.Be part of a company that lives its value: Green Today.
