As a Test Engineering Technician on the Battery team at Beta Technologies, you will use your hands-on technical aptitude to set up, execute, clean up, and document a variety of aerospace environmental tests on anything from flight control computers to high-voltage battery packs. Test categories span a variety of areas, such as shock and vibration, thermal, humidity, altitude, or electromagnetic interference. Test Engineering Technician duties include not just the setup and testing of aircraft assemblies or components, but also the routine maintenance and troubleshooting of test equipment. An ideal candidate has great attention to detail when following a defined test plan, but also a good dose of creativity when working with the team on how to execute new and interesting development tests and the drive and motivation to see things through to completion no matter the challenge. How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation: Assemble test fixtures, including both mechanical assembly and wiring/electrical assembly.Maintain and improve test equipment for both internally developed and externally purchased tools. Contribute to and carefully follow test procedures, ensuring completeness and accuracy every step of the way.Clean up all tests and test equipment after test completion and document any findings with rigor.Look out for your teammates and maintain a safe, positive and efficient work environmentUse all mandated safety equipment and comply with all safety requirements in accordance with company and government regulations and guidelinesPerform other work-related duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:Two-year engineering degree or certificate from an accredited two (2) year college, university, or technical school or minimum 2 years work experience in a related technical fieldPassionate about continuous improvement and driven to continually learn, develop, and adaptAbility to assist in problem analysis and independent decision-makingAbility to operate hand and power toolsAbility to interpret drawings, specifications, and schematics of electronic componentsGood team communication skills requiredKnowledge of Microsoft Applications share point, outlook, word, excel, PowerPoint ; Slack, application lifecycleAbove and Beyond Qualifications:Computer Aided Design (CAD) experience Python or similar programming experience Battery cell or high voltage DC electrical system experienceKnowledge of DO-160Aerospace design verification experience, especially compliance test experiencePhysical Demands and Work Environment:Ability to ascend and descend ladders and/or stairsAbility to position self for inspection including confined, elevated and loud noise spacesAbility to position self to move and/or transfer materials, equipment and/or suppliesAbility to use tools, equipment, and technology necessary to do the job.
