Senior Analyst Of Pricing And Costing

The Senior Analyst of Pricing and Costing will report to The North Face, Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis. The role will partner closely with the Regional Product & Merchandising organization and finance teams to develop the seasonal pricing architecture. You will build, analyze, and summarize the seasonal pricing model to provide an initial pricing structure for the Region. You will partner with the Director of FP&A to develop a long-term sustainable pricing review/process and identify opportunities for margin improvement. Along with these responsibilities, you will perform ad-hoc financial modeling for special projects and establish cost-related standards and procedures.

  • Prepare and manage the costing and pricing timetable for the Americas Region
  • Coordinate the generation of seasonal sales pricelist working closely with Category Merchandising, Customer Service, & Sales Enablement
  • Present proposed price list & expected seasonal standard margin vs targets to The North Face leadership team and the Americas CFO
  • Responsible of seasonal standard costs generation based on FOBs collected, VF exchange rates and overheads
  • Partner and discuss with product development major differences between expected and actual margins to prevent extra costs and generate commitment on negotiations
  • Collaborate with other VF brands in pricing process to ensure alignment
  • Attend Regional Sales meetings and join price discussions with Sales & Merchandising leadership team
  • Attending GTM at relevant steps by delivering product margin support
  • Own royalty payouts for Collab partners on a quarterly basis
  • Oversees quarterly category analysis (i.e. customer margins by quarter/product type).
  • Creates ad-hoc closeout/discount analysis models
  • Monitors & authorize SMU requests, as well as changes to Line List post line-lock
  • Works with sales force on special pricing/programs, providing assistance to select the best performing special prices for single accounts and follow up until discount check is performed by customer service

Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 3+ years of experience and professional achievements.

The foundation skills you will need in this position are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or other quantitative disciplines or equivalent education and years of experience. MBA a plus but not a requirement.
  • Advanced Excel and PC skills; SAP experience preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in financial concepts, budgeting, and forecasting. Strong financial modeling skills.
  • Ability to partner across functions and drive process improvements and business results.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills are required; ability to apply systems knowledge to troubleshoot and analyze new issues is critical
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work independently with a proactive working style
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
