Job DescriptionJob DescriptionGeneral DescriptionThe Intensive Placement Stabilization (IPS) Therapeutic Case Aid provides short-term supportive assistance alongside IPS Therapists in carrying out the delivery of program services to youth in care.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPosition-Specific· Demonstrates agency clinical philosophy in all aspects of program activities.· Provides therapeutic mentoring, respite, or interim support to youth and caregivers.· Serves as a case aide to the IPS program and performs duties that support the youth in the program, such as providing transportation, therapeutic respite, etc.· Attends trainings related to youth's needs and uses appropriate therapeutic respite techniques based on this training. May include training in developmental trauma and developmental delays and disabilities, as well as training on the Attachment, Regulation, Competency (ARC) Framework.· Provides transportation for youth to and from home, school, activities, and/or services as outlined.· With the collaboration of the IPS Therapist, assists with securing service referrals for families.· Completes timely and accurate documentation of services provided through progress notes.· Completes other duties assigned by the IPS Manager.· Plan out and arrange activities for youth in the community, as determined by the caregiver and IPS Therapist.· Work towards goals as specified in the Respite Plan, if applicable.All Employees· Supports the agency's mission, vision and values.· Strives to demonstrate the following core characteristics to promote the best outcomes for children and families:o Lead by empathy and nonjudgemento Practice Self-Awarenesso Name power imbalances and structural limitationso Center youth and caregiver voice and choiceo Demonstrate flexibility and resourcefulnesso Balance healthy boundaries with authentic relationshipso Connect with what drives uso Prioritize self-careo Commit to critical thinking and curiosityo Celebrate strengths and successes· Demonstrates sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of children and families impacted by abuse and neglect.· Actively participates in the agency's quality improvement process.· Establishes and maintains appropriate professional boundaries.· Understands and abides by agency's policies and procedures.· Effectively utilizes supervision and provides supervisor with critical information in a timely manner.· Attends and participates in professional development opportunities relevant to position.· Adheres to assigned schedule and notifies supervisor of changes for approval.· Utilizes Microsoft Outlook Calendar to accurately reflect planned daily schedule and changes.Work EnvironmentThis employee operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Must be able to visit families in their homes. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.Expected Hours of WorkWork schedules are based on the needs of the children, youth, and families served by the agency and often include nights and weekends. The Therapeutic Case Aide must be available for weekend and evening hours. The case aide is full-time at 32 hours per week. Schedule for the case aide is Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 11 am-7 pm, and Saturdays from 9 am-5 pm. The schedule will be developed with and approved by the Supervisor if the clients' needs change. A work week is defined as Sunday to Saturday.TravelThe Therapeutic Case Aide may travel throughout the Chicagoland area as required to meet the needs of assigned families and to participate in professional development activities.Educational Requirements/General QualificationsMinimum Degree Required: BS/BADegree Preferred: Bachelor's degree in social work or a social service-related degree.Minimum Years of Experience: At least 1 year of social service or related experience preferredLicensure: N/AInformation Technology Skills Required: Microsoft Office ProficiencyOther Requirements:Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication and time management skillsFull-time use of a minimally insured, operating automobile and a valid driver's license, as needed.Our contract requires background checks that include: criminal, education, and motor vehicle.Job Posted by ApplicantPro
