With over 23 programs we offer multiple ways to aid seniors maintain their health well-being independence and participation in the community fulfilling our mission.The Therapeutic Recreation Supervisor provides leadership and oversight to the Activities Department within the PACE Day Health Center ensuring a high-quality person-centered programming that promotes engagement social connection and well-being among participants. This position supervises all members of the activity team providing guidance coaching evaluation and accountability for program quality documentation and staff performance. Reporting to the Center Manager the Therapeutic Recreation Supervisor ensures alignment with IDT goals regulatory requirements and the mission of providing comprehensive care and enrichment to PACE participants.Leadership & Supervision Provide daily supervision and leadership to the Activities Coordinators and Activities Assistants. Establish clear expectations for performance conduct regular coaching and hold staff accountable on follow through. Strengthen individual and team competency by ensuring professional development and conducting regular competency checks. Address performance concerns and participate in hiring training and onboarding new team members. Cultivate team engagement and cohesion through structured meetings that emphasize goal alignment communication and collective problem-solving.Program & Clinical Oversight Oversee the planning and delivery of large and small group activities special events and individualized engagement programs in multiple day rooms for a culturally diverse population. Ensure that monthly activities are varied engaging and inclusive reflecting participant preferences and functional levels. Provide oversight for activity teams assessments care plan development and documentation to ensure compliance quality and therapeutic goals. Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) to ensure therapeutic activities support participant care plans and goals. Maintain a consistent presence across all day rooms to observe programming mentor staff and ensure a positive and engaging environment. Engage directly with participants to assess satisfaction encourage participation and model best practices in engagement. Ensure effective individualized interventions for participants with behavioral cognitive or functional challenges. Advance and oversee a volunteer program that enhances social interactions expands provision of activities creates intergenerational connections and optimizes individual attention.Quality & Performance Excellence Champion excellence by upholding the highest standards in documentation regulatory compliance and safety practices. Lead quality improvement initiatives related to meeting therapeutic goals and satisfaction outcomes. Serve as a resource and mentor in dementia and psychosocial engagement techniques and other best practices related to therapeutic recreation.Operational & Administrative Manage scheduling and coverage for all activities staff to ensure adequate support across multiple day rooms. Prepare reports data summaries and program evaluations for the Center Manager as requested. Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations volunteers and entertainers to enhance programming opportunities.QualificationsEducation and Credentials Bachelors degree in Therapeutic Recreation Recreation Therapy Music Therapy Gerontology Psychology Social Work or related field. Certified Activity Director (ADC) Activity Consultant Certified (ACC) Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) strongly preferred. First Aid and CPR certification required within 6-months of hire.Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in activity programming for older adults. Minimum 3 years supervisory experience. Strong background in dementia care and experience working in adult day health PACE long-term care or memory care settings. Demonstrated ability to motivate and develop staff lead change and manage team dynamics. Experience conducting recreation assessments developing care plans and ensuring regulatory compliance in ADHC or PACE environments.Skills and Attributes Proven leadership and mentoring abilities. Excellent communication interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills. Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask and delegate effectively. Creative flexible and enthusiastic with a passion for participant engagement. Culturally competent and comfortable working in multilingual multicultural settings. Proficiency in Microsoft Office EHR documentation and activity scheduling systems.Physical Requirements Ability to lift transfer push/pull maneuver and reposition up to 35 lbs. Ability to stand for extended periods and move between day rooms.
