With a competitive wage of $22.22–$28.14/hour, this role is perfect for someone who loves using play, movement, and meaningful activities to spark healing and build confidence. You'll be based at our Parkview location while also supporting a variety of departments across the clinic, giving you a dynamic mix of settings and opportunities to make an impact.Must have Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (TRS) active in the State of Utah.Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday (Days are Varied), 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM (Hours are Varied)Compensation: $22.22–$28.14 DOE and LicensureAbout Us: Wasatch Behavioral HealthWasatch Behavioral Health is a local government agency dedicated to providing compassionate, accessible mental health and substance-use services. We value collaboration, innovation, empathy, and creating a workplace where both clients and employees can thrive.What You'll Do as a Therapeutic Recreation SpecialistCreate meaningful, evidence-based recreation therapy plans tailored to each client's needsLead fun, therapeutic group and individual activities in both indoor and outdoor settingsComplete assessments and track progress to support each client's growth and goalsCollaborate with a multidisciplinary team to keep treatment plans aligned and effectiveDocument services in the EHR accurately and on timeHelp shape program improvements and maintain a safe, supportive environmentProvide services across multiple settings and locations within the agencyMay supervise TRT Technicians, interns, or fellow TRT SpecialistsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation/Recreation Therapy (or another bachelor's with an approved TR emphasis; graduate degrees accepted) ANDCompleted therapeutic recreation practicum ANDLicensed Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (TRS) in UtahSolid understanding of recreation therapy principles, including the APIED processAbility to plan and facilitate therapeutic groups/activities for varied physical, cognitive, and behavioral needsExperience working in outpatient, crisis, and/or residential settingsStrong communication, teamwork, organization, and problem-solving skillsAccurate and timely EHR documentation skillsKnowledge of behavioral health conditions, adaptive interventions, and safety protocolsValid driver's licenseComfortable working in active indoor/outdoor environments and participating in physical activitiesSpanish speakers may qualify for a wage increaseApply TodayReady to make a real impact?
