Reports to: School Principal Deadline for application: Until-Filled EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Required: AA degree or 48 semester hours or Passing scores on WorkKeys exams (Applied Math Workplace Documents and Business Writing assessments. We require a score of 4 or higher for the Math and Workplace Documents and a 3 or higher for the Business Writing). Preferred: CPI training (training provided) CPR/First Aid (training provided) JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective: Provide an enriched atmosphere where students learn subject matter and/or skills that will contribute to their development as mature able and responsible members of society. Facilitate learning and guide students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual emotional and psychological growth and maturation. Responsible to the building principal and department director where assigned. Essential Job Functions: Responsible to support the academic programming and progress of individual students and/or small groups of students with identified significant needs. Provide student specific personal care and support. Duties include but are not limited to assisting with daily classroom activities assisting in data collection sanitizing equipment and materials and providing to thestaff. Ability to sit for long periods of time numerous distractions visual auditory and ambulatory acuity important. Ability to move quickly from one position to another in response to student needs and upper body strength with the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. Additional Qualifications: Applicant must have the knowledge skills and abilities sufficient to perform the function of the position. Applicant must be able to provide student specific personal care support to students. Previous experience working in school setting or with children with special needs. Strong verbal communication skills ability to move quickly from one position to another in response to student needs desire to work in team setting positive attitude upper body strength with the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. experience skills preferred but not required.
