POSITION TITLE: Title III Non-Public Tutor - Saint John the Baptist SchoolREPORTS TO: Building PrincipalDirector of Bilingual ServicesSALARY: Certified Teacher Hourly rate plus FICA and TERFTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Employed for 2025-2026 School Year Not to exceed funds allocated for this project.POSITION SUMMARY:Candidate should have the ability to understand and accept the Mission of the South Bend Community School Corporation in reference to the education of English Learners (ELs). Candidate should have basic knowledge of second language acquisition and its terminology. Candidate must be able to work with a linguistically and culturally diverse group of individuals.EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:Teacher Certification RequiredKNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish English/Other)Have good organizational skills and initiative. Use positive approaches appropriately and consistently. Have ability to exercise tact and discretion when dealing with parents and studentsExcellent oral communication and written communication skillsAbility to instruct students individually and in small groups under the direction of a certified teacherPERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist in supplemental English Language Development instruction (vocabulary and language development guided interaction strategies reading comprehension strategies use of modeling realia graphic organizers and visuals etc.)Tutor students as assigned based on their specific language development skill needsRelay student progress information in English Language Development to certified classroom teacher/s or school administrator/s on an ongoing basisParticipate in professional development activities that support supplemental English Language Development principles and strategiesCarry out policies and procedures of the South Bend Community School CorporationUse time effectivelyComplete sign in and sign out on TCP Key Skills AJAX,Bilingual,Corporate Risk Management,Flex,Hotel Front Office,Accident Investigation Employment Type : Part-Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
