Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSummaryWe are seeking applicants for a co-teacher position in our Two-year-old classroom at our W. Madison location. The teacher is responsible for supervising the classroom and promoting the social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development of the children enrolled. The position is full time, Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day/40 hours per week. The center's working hours are 6:30 am to 5:30 pm. DutiesThe toddler teacher will develop weekly lesson plans focusing on preschool-readiness skills that are developmentally appropriate. The teacher will complete ongoing observation and assessments of the children to modify the activities to meet the needs of each child. The teacher will be responsible for assisting with self-help skills such as feeding, changing diapers, and general care of toddlers. Other duties include organizing and maintaining the classroom, communicating with families verbally and in writing, and keeping updated records. RequirementsApplicants must have a high school diploma or GED. Applicants must also have a current TB skin test and be able to pass a fingerprint-based background check. In this field, attendance is extremely important. Nice To HavesKY Commonwealth Child Care Credential and CDA credential are required within the first year of employment, but are not required to start.
