We explicitly seek applications from those who self-identify as coming from historically marginalized populations to enrich and elevate our equity-centered approach to problem-solving.ABOUT THE ROLE:The Stepping Stones Housing Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing services and operations of the emergency shelter program operating out of the PodShare site. The Stepping Stones Housing Supervisor will provide supervision to a team of direct service workers and case managers operating out of the site. The Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of individuals onsite and coordinating with security to ensure that they are conducting regular site rotations. The role will also beresponsible for conducting outreach and supporting the case managers in triaging referrals and ensuring that youth are connected to housing and resources. The Supervisor will be responsible for reviewing documentation completing regular reporting providing training and coaching liaising with partner organizations and ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of direct service to at-risk populations and trauma-informed care. Specific knowledge or experience related to transitional aged youth experiencing homelessness is a plus.WHAT YOULL DO:Provide supportive supervision to a team of direct service workers serving youth in emergency housing (24 hour location)Ensure that required documentation is being obtained and review case management notes and service plansEnsure that regular case consultations are being conducted to ensure youth safety and that they are making progress towards towards their housing and service plan goalsEnsure that onsite activities are being logged incident reports completed and nightly bed checks trackedConduct outreach and triage for referrals and support case managers with move ins and exitsProvide administrative oversight to the emergency housing sites to ensure successfulimplementation coordination of services achievement of program performance measures and evaluation of services providedAssess and resolve programmatic and site needs including coordinating maintenance and serving as the point of contract with PodShare staffProvide mediation non-violent crisis intervention as needed including supporting the discharge processCommunicate all relevant information including incident reporting to the Program Director and relevant leadershipProvide training coaching professional development and evaluation to staffServe as the hiring manager for emergency housing direct service staff interview and provide comprehensive onboardingManage on-site and off-site partnerships with external agencies to support effective programming and referral processesEnsure functionality of safety systems including safety preparedness protocolsEducate network and represent program to local agencies coalitions community stakeholders and other organizationsEnsure data collection preparation of monthly reports and other program administration dutiesEnsure consistent enforcement of policies and proceduresCo-facilitate staff member and community meetings and trainings as neededOther duties as assigned to support the mission of the organizationRequirementsRequirementsWHAT YOULL NEED:Bachelors degree in social science or related field preferred is preferred.Related work or lived experience will be strongly considered in place of or in addition to a Bachelors degree.2-3 years of experience providing direct services to high-risk transitional age youth is required.2-3 years of experience providing case management services to high-risk transitional age youth is required.1-2 years of supervisory experience is required.Working knowledge of child and adolescent social emotional and cognitive development trauma informed care and harm reduction service modelsWork within legal and ethical guidelinesFlexibility with schedule based on program needsCommitment and passion for the mission vision values and culture of SPYA self-starter who is prepared to drive innovative solutionsExcellent communication and organizational skillsAn ability to work in a fast paced environment that requires effective collaborationA valid California drivers license auto insurance and the ability to transport youthProficient in Microsoft Office and Google DriveCultural humilityWORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Changes in the environment such as the office or outdoors.Physical effort/lifting such as sedentary- up to 15-20 pounds at times.SPECIAL CONDITIONS:Mandated Reporting Requirements: The person holding this position is considered a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 Revised July 21 2017 as a condition of employment.COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements: Effective August 9 2021 the State Health Officer has mandated that all workers paid or unpaid in homeless services organizations must provide proof of vaccination.
