Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSummaryWe are looking for nurturing and patient childcare workers who have a passion for working with young children and will encourage the growth and development of each child in a compassionate way. DutiesYou will be responsible for the following duties:Plan, carry out, and assess developmentally appropriate activities and experiences in harmony with the Center's philosophyProvide a daily balance of active/quiet, indoor/outdoor, and individual/group activitiesEstablish and carry out a daily activity schedule that incorporates child directed activity, care routines and transition timesOrganize space, equipment and materials for activitiesEnsure the child's environment is healthy and safeComplete the health and safety forms weekly for indoors and outdoorsFollow the Center's procedures for administering medications and maintaining health RecordsReport all accidents, injuries and illnesses to the Center's Director or delegate Record such incidents in the daily logbookAttend to children's physical needs for toileting, diapering, eating and sleeping as promptly as possibleReport all incidents of child abuse to the Director and follow Centers procedure and government regulationsRelease children only to authorized personsEnsure positive communication with parentsCarry out the responsibilities assigned to youAttend regular staff meetingsMaintain confidentiality of all information related to the Centers' children, their parents, and staffMaintain regular work attendance and punctuality.Ability to be energetic, resilient and maintain a sense of humor when personal resources are challengedHigh degree of personal initiative with good planning and organizational skillsRequirementsThe following requirements all candidates considered are:Must be able to pass a background testMust be 18 years of ageMust have a HS Diploma or equivalentMust have interpersonal skills for with coworkers, parents, and community membersMust have mature and responsible attitude towards workMust be able to lift 20 - 25 pounds and be able to frequently sit on floor.Be ENTHUSIASTIC about and have a warm supportive attitude and disposition toward working with children and their families!Nice To HavesOrganizational skillsLoves to sing and read to the children Communication skillsSense of humor Empathy Flexibility Teamwork Conflict resolution BenefitsCompetitive compensationPaid time off that increases the longer you workEducational professional developmentbenefits through AFLAC
