Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSummaryThe Mead School is a small progressive independent day school nestled on 14 beautiful acres in Stamford, Connecticut. We enroll students from Infancy to Grade 8 and honor children as curious and capable learners. Our progressive approach emphasizes hands-on exploration, social and emotional growth, and meaningful engagement with the world. Our Early Learning Centers provide a play based, hands-on, socially interactive learning environment. As a small school we foster close relationships among educators, children and families - creating a nurturing and inclusive learning community. Currently, we are seeking two teachers to work with toddlers who range in age from two to three. DutiesResponsibilities include but are not limited to: Working in collaboration with a teaching team to establish and maintain A physically safe, clean, and healthy learning environment, both inside and out, to prevent injury and reduce illness.A consistent, predictable, responsive, and well-organized environment, intentionally prepared to meet the evolving needs of students, foster a sense of belonging and emotional security, and encourage appropriate behavior. A respectful, loving and inclusive environment that values and honors each child's gender identity, race, culture, family, language, and learning style to nurture a positive and strong sense of self. An environment that provides a developmentally appropriate and anti-bias curriculum and supports each child's emotional, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.RequirementsWe are looking for creative individuals who have a natural talent for making connections with young children.Candidates must be warm, fun lovingand nurturing; possess a positive energy;enjoy designing activities and playing with children; take direction well; be quick to learn; and must communicate and work well with others. At least 6 months experience working with young children in a childcare or preschool setting, and coursework in early childhood are preferred.Hands-on training provided.Must be 18 years or olderMust clear full background check and pass health screening.Must be available to work between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:30 pm.
