JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title

Perform tasks required to independently isolate problems with tools & dies, take them apart, machine new parts (or repair old ones) and reassemble the tooling and dies. Tasks must be performed so that the tools are capable of producing quality parts to specifications when returned to production and fast enough that the tools can be returned to production without an interruption in service to our customers.

  • Hand Tools
  • CNC
  • Work in a safe manner, providing constant attention and communication regarding safety concerns to leaders in order to limit unsafe practices throughout the facility.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on tool and dies.
  • Troubleshoot advanced issues with tool and dies to ensure production needs are met.
  • Proactively participate in continuous improvement efforts and drive process, tooling, and equipment enhancements that will improve production efficiency and product quality.
  • Help develop specific maintenance and repair procedures to install, maintain, and repair production equipment and tools.
  • Read and interpret CAD data, blueprints, GD&T, CMM reports, customer specifications.
  • Apply and utilize manufacturing best practice for efficiency, quality, safety and capability.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with vendors, team members, suppliers and project teams.
  • Engage with outside resources as needed to keep production running.
  • Provide direction and coaching to less experienced team members, as well as mentor apprentices as requested.
  • Advanced troubleshooting of both equipment and systems.
