The Opportunity We are collaborating with multiple companies in DeWitt seeking experienced Tool Makers. Key Responsibilities Design build and repair precision tools dies jigs fixtures and gauges. Operate and maintain a variety of machine tools including lathes mills grinders and EDMs. Interpret complex blueprints schematics and engineering drawings to determine specifications. Troubleshoot and diagnose tooling problems implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime. Perform precision measurements using instruments such as micrometers calipers and gauges to ensure accuracy. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize tool design and manufacturing processes. Conduct preventative maintenance on tooling to ensure longevity and consistent performance. Adhere to all safety regulations and quality control standards throughout the tool-making process. Recommended Qualifications Journeyman Tool Maker certification or 5 years of equivalent experience. Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machine tools (lathes mills grinders EDMs). Expertise in reading and interpreting complex engineering blueprints schematics and GD&T. Demonstrated skill in using precision measuring instruments (micrometers calipers gauges CMMs). Strong understanding of various materials (metals alloys plastics) and their machining properties.
