Key Responsibilities Design develop and modify custom tooling jigs fixtures and molds for manufacturing processes. Manage the maintenance repair and refurbishment of existing tooling to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Analyze tooling failures and implement root cause analysis and corrective actions to improve reliability and reduce downtime. Collaborate with production design and quality departments to optimize tooling for efficiency cost-effectiveness and product quality. Evaluate and select appropriate materials manufacturing methods and suppliers for tooling components and new tooling projects. Implement continuous improvement initiatives for tooling designs processes and maintenance strategies. Ensure all tooling meets safety quality and regulatory standards. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical field. 3-5 years of experience in tooling design development and maintenance within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD NX) for tool design and simulation. Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g. injection molding stamping machining) and tooling materials. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot tooling issues implement corrective actions and optimize tooling performance. Knowledge of GD&T principles and their application in tooling design and inspection.
